Ti's Blog

At last, satisfaction

Before landing on bear blog as the place where I want to share my thoughts and write, I jumped between various options. One of them was a static site generator called Hugo, which I hosted on Cloudflare pages. It looked great and was free, but yet, I couldn't shake the feeling that something just wasn't right.

Turns out there was this weird feeling of isolation? Like, my poor site, just floating in the middle of the vast online world, with likely no one seeing my posts, it felt very sad to think about. Maybe it's due to growing up online, and having participated in pretty much every major social media, from Blackberry Network (yes, i'm that old), to Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, Twitter, Reddit, yada yada, you name it. You end up wanting people to see stuff you post online, for better or worse.

All of that to say, i'm quite fond of bear blog and the little community here. It strikes a very nice balance of not being too isolated, yet also not being the loud online mess that is modern social media.

Herman, you rock brother.
